Tractor makes $14,700 at Currency Creek clearing sale

21 Jul, 2009 09:42 AM
CURRENCY Creek hobby farmer Tony Harbour was fortunate to have a nice sunny day for his clearing sale on Friday, ensuring a large crowd was in attendance.

There were more than 150 registered buyers, mainly from the Fleurieu Peninsula and Adelaide Hills.

Selling agent Malcolm Collett, Collett Livestock, said the sale was also very popular because of the quality and type of items on offer, which included a variety of machinery and equipment, motorbikes, trailers, irrigation equipment, fertiliser seed, workshop items and sundries.

The sale highlight was a SAME Saturno 80 tractor with front end loader bucket which made $14,700.

Other notable machinery included a 2004 Polaris 4WD Sportsman 400cc quad bike, which made $4400, and a DB880 12-speed tractor, which made $4200.

A red Ford XR6 automatic ute, with 115,000 kilometres, was also on offer but did not sell.

Mr Harbour is retiring from farming and moving to Murray Bridge.
