As-new boomspray tops Mallee clearing sale

AN as-new boomspray topped a clearing sale in the Mallee on Friday last week, making $58,000 for the Thomas family, Moorlands.

The Thomas' have sold a big percentage of their property, but will retain the family business - Moorlands Tyre and Machinery.

Conducted by Elders, the sale attracted 182 registered buyers.

The top priced item was a Goldacres Prairie 6000-litre boomspray with a 33-metre boom.

The second highest money maker was an aluminium Hamelex tri-axle tipper, hitting $40,000.

A New Holland TR86 header made $24,000, while a 1986 Kenworth prime mover went for $19,000.
