WHEN launched in 2006, the New Holland T8000 series tractors were said to be best in their class for pulling-power, hydraulic capacity and operator convenience and comfort.
Apart from its articulate-steer range of high-kilowatt machines, the T8000 series units were New Holland's flagship tractors at the time.
Our Machine of the Week, from the Agtrader pages, is a middle-of-the-range New Holland T8030 model on offer by BMS Ag & Construction, Tanunda.
Dealership spokesman Nigel Phillips said the fully equipped tractor was the ideal cropping unit.
"It is virtually still a new tractor with just 1500 hours up and at our asking price of just $149,000 including GST, it really is a top buy," he said.
"This tractor comes with heavy-duty front and rear axles and is fitted with both SuperSteer for tighter turning and easier steering, plus TerraGluide front axle suspension for smoother working conditions.
"Power for the tractor is from a six-cylinder 24-valve, 8.3 litre engine that increases its power as it pulls down and provides a power growth of more than 30kw.
"The tractor drives through a 19x4 powershift transmission that includes a special gear that increases fuel economy during transport.
"This transmission is further enhanced by the convenience of NH's push-button AutoShift control, which operates in road and paddock modes."
