LOOKING for a good secondhand combine for the coming harvest. Then have a look at what is on offer in this week's AgTrader classifieds pages.
They offer a smorgasbord of top-quality, keenly priced machines.
One such machine is a Case IH 2388 axial-flow combine at John Payne Ag, Bordertown, realistically priced at $189,000 plus GST.
This 2002-build with 1420 rotor hours on the clock has a 9.1-metre 1020 Flex-front and comes complete with a comb trailer.
It also has two full sets of concaves for large and small grains.
Dealer principal John Payne said the combine was the complete package.
"It is fitted with an AFX rotor and is fully equipped with all the top electronic aids that include the Case IH AFS monitoring and control system," he said.
"Features of the AFS system include guidance, yield and moisture monitoring and all the necessary information about the combine's working status.
"It also allows operators to set the combine for changing crop conditions."
Mr Payne said the combine, which had worked only in the relatively easy conditions in the Lillimur district of the Victorian Wimmera, was sold as-new by his dealership and regularly maintained by his trained mechanics.
"The owner traded it back to us when he upgraded to 7120 model," he said.
"It has been thoroughly checked in our workshop and is harvest ready to go."
Mr Payne said his dealership also had an excellent range of secondhand combines of various brands.
"All these machines are worthy of inspection," he said.
