OUR top machine buy this week is a Krone Big Pack 12130 1.2-metre square baler being offered by RH Schulz Pty Ltd, Saddleworth.
Just a three-year-old unit with a recorded output of only 9900 bales, it has been fully specified to 2009 model standards under Krone's policy of automatically making upgrades available to owners, as they become available.
Dealer principal Peter Schulz said the baler was in top condition and ready to work.
"Being fully upgraded to 2009 specifications and with such a low throughput, it's the type of baler that will suit a new machine buyer," he said.
"At our asking price $90,000 it also represents a saving of more than $100,000 on a new 2009 specified baler."
Mr Schulz said the single-axle baler featured Krone's Variable Feed System that allowed it to excel in any harvest conditions, irrespective of swath volume and ground speed.
"Krone balers are renowned for their high-capacity throughput, and with this system a retainer mechanism holds the crop in the feed channel until a full wad is formed, at which time the wad is released into the plunger chamber.
"This in part, it is claimed, gives the balers the ability to produce bale densities in well-shaped and rock-hard bales.
"The Big Pack balers also feature heavy-duty gearboxes for minimal tractor power requirements, chainless drives, in-cabin density control, electronic baler operation monitoring and last-bale ejection."
Mr Schulz said the Krone Big Pack was one of 10 good secondhand balers he had for sale.
"We have become a bit of a specialist baler dealership and our present stock range includes Massey Ferguson, Case IH and Heston among others, and all are ready to go and are worthy of inspection" he said.
