Haying bargains are still out there. And a two-year-old Krone 12130 big square baler being offered by Ramsey Bros, Cleve, is ripe for the picking, especially in a late-season haying district.
Dealer principal Mark Ward says it is in almost new condition. The 2007-built baler has enjoyed the benefits of Krone's policy of annually updating its in-field equipment to specifications.
With just better than a 10,000 bale throughput, the 4x4x8 Big Pack Krone baler has been updated to 2009 model specifications.
Mr Ward described the baler as a feature-packed machine.
"It features Krone's variable feed system which is renowned for producing high density, well shaped and rock hard bales," he said.
"It allows the baler to excel in any harvest conditions irrespective of swath volume and ground speed.
"Krone balers are renowned for their high capacity throughput and with their unique retainer mechanism they hold the crop in the feed channel until a full wad is formed, when it is then released into the plunger chamber.
"The Big Pack balers also feature heavy duty gearboxes for minimal tractor power requirements, chainless drives, in-cabin density control, electronic baler operation monitoring and last bale ejection.
"It is a single axle machine fitted with 710/50R26.5 tyres."
Mr Ward said the baler was complete with a compressed air blow and that required a 1000 rpm PTO tractor.
