SA stud ram home Merino benefits

SOUTH Australia's Merino stud breeders will have their fingers crossed for a repeat of the 2007 ram-selling season of 80 per cent-plus clearances and strong averages.

Similar numbers of rams will be on offer and while some farmers have put in extra paddocks of crop to chase lucrative prices, many also recognise that livestock – particularly Merinos – remain an important part of a profitable farm business.
