Karoonda, SA, Merino sale pays off for Tumby buyer

30 Jul, 2008 10:58 AM
The Karoonda and Districts Stud Merino Field Day presented South Australian graziers with an excellent opportunity to assess the future of their flocks for both wool and sheepmeat production.

Leading the sale was Brenton Stratford, Tumby Bay, who bought a Merino ram with 20.6 micron wool for $3000 from Roger Fiebig, Hilton Heath, Mount Pleasant and Keith, SA.

It was fourth Hilton Heath ram Mr Stratford has purchased in recent years and will be used in his commerical Merino flock on his 'Secret Rocks' property.

Hilton Heath Stud also sold a Poll Merino Ram, 19.7 micron to Helyar Brothers, Monteith, for $1500.
