Jamestown ewes to $103

24 Oct, 2008 04:02 PM
A lack of rain in the region did not help the market at Jamestown, SA, yesterday where 30,000 sheep were yarded.

Breeding ewes were firm on price, but whether lambs and young ewes lost ground.

Elders agent Simon Harding said the best of the whether lambs were $4-5 cheaper, with secondary lines firm, while the best young ewes were $5-8 cheaper.

Topping the market at $103 was a 153 line April/May '07- drop, August-shorn ewes from GS, DK and S Goodes.
