Bugle Downs Polls to $650

10 Oct, 2008 05:00 AM
THE Hedges family, Bugle Downs, offered a consistent line up of quality, thick-bodied rams at their annual on-farm Poll Dorset sale in Keith recently.

Overall, 44 of the 54 rams on offer to a loyal client base, averaging $650.

The top price of $1100 was reached three times, with Elders Keith clients Walladge Partners buying all three for a total of six rams on the day.

Volume buyers the Martinech family, Apsley, secured seven rams, while new client Childerly Park, Elders Naracoorte, took home six to $700.

Elders Keith agent Luke Schreiber said the evenness of the line up was evident and, with the help of the two orders from afar, the sale was strong right through the catalogue.

The remainder of the rams stayed in the Keith district.

* More ram sale results in Stock Journal, October 9 issue.
