Be a part of the June 2009 MLA national lamb survey

30 Jun, 2009 10:54 AM
Australia’s lamb producers are being urged to participate in Meat & Livestock Australia’s (MLA) June 2009 online lamb survey, designed to gather statistics on the current state of the nation’s lamb flock.

The June 2009 MLA lamb survey is open for producers to complete, with the survey aiming to identify lamb production trends, and form the basis for key lamb supply forecasting activities by MLA.

MLA’s sheepmeat analyst Kara Jones said the 2009 MLA Lamb Survey would play an important role in helping livestock producers and others involved in the industry to track lamb production trends.

"The results of this survey will give those involved in the lamb industry a better understanding of the current situation and this can assist producers in making better informed on-farm management decisions," Ms Jones said.

The survey is being conducted online and has been emailed to MLA members.

The deadline for completing the survey is Tuesday 30 June and the results of the survey will be made available in August 2009.

All submissions are confidential and those who take part in the survey will automatically receive a copy of the aggregated survey results.

Further lamb surveys are set to be conducted in October 2009 and again in February 2010.

* If a producer has previously participated in the annual MLA Lamb Surveys, but is not an MLA member, or has not received the new survey, please call MLA on 02 6773 3146 or toll free on 1800 023 100 to access the survey.
