Sheep, pigeons a Royal combination

MOST judges are known for ruffling a few feathers among exhibitors.

But the 2008 Royal Adelaide Show White Suffolk judge Anthony Ferguson will be hoping the only flying feathers are on his show pigeons.

The first Friday of the show is always a big day for the Yorke Peninsula sheep breeder, whose Anna Villa stud has been a well-known name for many years in the White Suffolk and Suffolk and (formerly) Poll Dorset and Dorset Horn judging rings.

But fewer people would know Anthony is equally as passionate about trimming feathers, and filing and washing beaks, in readiness for the pigeon judging on the same day.
