MEAT & Livestock Australia's weekly wrap of national livestock markets indicates the vast difference in conditions across the country.

While some rain has fallen across South Australia, New South Wales, Victoria, and Tasmania over the past week, overwhelmingly more is needed in south eastern Australia before fears of another tough winter can be laid to rest.

Conversely, Western Australian livestock producers enjoyed average to above-average rain throughout April, giving a very good start to the season as many producers reduce livestock numbers and increase cropping area.
