After a sweltering summer which saw daytime temperatures soar into the forties, Adelaide is set to heat up again this weekend, albeit briefly.
Summer is but a distant memory to most now, but the heat that will affect many parts of the southeast including Adelaide, will be a stark reminder it was only three weeks ago.
Unfortunately, mother nature often does not heed mankind's delineations of the seasons.
As such, she is quite content with driving some very warm air into South Australia this weekend.
WeatherZone has observed the cause of this as being a trough and front that should arrive in Central Districts later in the day on Saturday.
Ahead, northerly winds look capable of defeating the defiant seabreeze, which in turn could pull heat south all the way to the coast.
Current projections estimate Adelaide could reach the mid thirties on Saturday, although the mercury could touch a degree or two higher further inland.
Although not a particularly strong change, temperatures will drop significantly on Sunday, with Adelaide currently forecast to drop into the mid-twenties, as winds tend southeasterly and the seabreeze kicks in.
