Meat & Livestock Australia members who can’t attend the annual general meeting in Darwin on Thursday, November 19, are urged to submit their proxy forms.
Proxy forms must be received no later than 2pm (NT time) on Tuesday, November 17.
MLA chairman Don Heatley encouraged all members – cattle, sheep and goat producers – to have their say and vote.
“It is important MLA members have a say in their company and I encourage all members to cast their vote, either in person at the AGM in Darwin or by proxy. Participation is particularly important this year as cattle producers cast their votes on the cattle transaction levy resolution,” he said.
“Voting packs were sent to all MLA members last month and included in the packs are the details of the resolutions being put forward at the AGM.”
A free producer forum will be held prior to the AGM, where livestock producers will have the opportunity to hear first-hand about livestock export activities, the outlook for cattle, sheep and goat markets, community integrity activities and red meat marketing.
During the producer forum, Indonesian feedlot owner Joyce Gunawan will provide a special guest presentation on her perspective of the Indonesian market place.
The forum also will provide details of MLA's key outcomes and highlights from the past year and future direction of MLA programs.
