WHILE searching for the most effective ways to improve productivity and soil fertility on his organic farm at Jamestown, Chris Malone learnt of a cost efficient way to unlock soil nutrients.
Research by numerous soil scientists from around the globe has shown that minerals in the soil can be unlocked naturally by soil microbes.
"Over past decades strong acids have been used to make nutrients in fertiliser water soluble," Chris said.
"Unfortunately when these are placed with the soil their natural way is to revert back to a stable state as they naturally occur. They bond with whatever is present in the soil.
