New wheat release at Minnipa

09 Sep, 2009 08:15 AM
A new wheat variety being launched at the Minnipa field day next week offers South Australian growers a higher yielding and improved disease resistance alternative to Wyalkatchem.

Mace is being released by Australian Grain Technologies, after success in SA trials and commercial production in Western Australia.

The new variety has yielded 5-6 per cent higher than Wyalkatchem, and importantly has stem rust resistance.

Croppers can see Mace trials on display at the Minnipa Ag Centre annual field day next Wednesday, September 16.

Stock Journal will feature more information about Mace following the launch.
