Succession secures farm future

10/07/2008 4:30:00 AM
SUCCESSION planning has been used to provide a secure future for the Cook family farm at Koolywurtie on the Yorke Peninsula.

Michael Cook, who farms alongside his wife Kylie, father Robert and mother Marilyn, said using a family succession planner - Mike Crause, from Adelaide - had been important for deciding the farm's direction.

"Mike sat down with everyone seperately for an hour each, and asked us what we each wanted," he said.

"He then bought us together and discussed what each of us had said."
