State grain estimates down

06 Jan, 2010 03:00 AM
Primary Industries and Resources SA's latest estimate for the State's grain crop is 7.7 million tonnes, a 5 per cent reduction on the last estimate, due to November and December weather.

The 2009 crop is the second largest on record, but significant rains during harvest affected grain quality. Harvest is 90pc complete across the State.

* Full harvest wrap in next week's Stock Journal.
