ABB Grain says it is "primed and ready" to export bulk wheat in the international marketplace, following Wheat Export Australia's decision to grant the Australian-based company accreditation.
ABB managing director, Michael Iwaniw, said the company was "ready to roll" after months of planning, and shipping wheat in containers to international customers.
"This is terrific news and opens up a new era for our company but, importantly, enormous opportunities for Australian wheat growers," Mr Iwaniw said.
"We'll work closely with existing growers and, indeed, encourage new growers to enjoy the ABB relationship.
"ABB’s been in the grains business for 69 years and has vast experience in running pools and exporting grains and other commodities to dozens of countries and diverse cultures.
"We believe ABB can really stand up for growers’ best interests internationally, and offer growers our experience, security and integrity."
Mr Iwaniw said growers could have complete confidence when delivering grain into ABB’s pools which, this year for the first time, would operate nationally and be available for wheat, barley and canola.
