 Shearer's reward against the odds

Shearer's reward against the odds

12/10/2008 4:00:00 AM
JOSH Talbot, Jamestown, has received the Making Apprenticeships Simple National award for apprentice of the month after learning how to shear - one handed.

MAS National's Paul Templer travelled to Jamestown on Monday to meet Joshua and says he deserves to be rewarded for his commitment and achievements in shearing.

"His commitment and ongoing perseverance is unbelievable, Mr Templer said.

"For anyone else shearing is hard enough, but only having one arm he shears extremely well."

Josh, 17, lost his arm in a car accident on Australia Day this year on his way home from work but says it has not changed his life.
