SOUTH Australia's primary producers were rewarded for their tireless efforts and contribution to the land at the Agricultural Bureau's 2008 Spirit of Excellence in Agriculture Awards on Tuesday.
The bureau also celebrated 120 years of service to the farming community as a provider of information.
A self-education network, the bureau has supplied information for 120 years and revolutionised the State's farming practices.
Loxton irrigator and grapegrower Lindsay Dowley was awarded the bureau's 2008 Services to Primary Production Award for his efforts to improve the State's horticulture industry.
The award recognises exceptional service to primary production and the bureau's branches selected nominees from across SA.
