EXTRA capacity on bus, train and tram services will be provided throughout the metropolitan area for the 4th Cricket Test at Adelaide Oval between Australia and India on Thursday.
Minister for Transport Services Chloë Fox says the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) will once again provide additional capacity on the public transport network for the major sporting event.
“The extra services will be available in addition to regular timetabled buses, trains and trams,” she said.
“They will also complement the new Australia Day shopping hours, which will see Rundle Mall open from 11am to 5pm for the first time on this public holiday.”
Trams will run at 10 minute intervals throughout the day until 11:30pm (from the City), with services then running every 20 minutes until the last service from the Entertainment Centre at 12.30am.
Additional railcars will be available for late night services from Adelaide Railway Station and can be used as required.
In addition, extra buses will operate on key corridors, with articulated vehicles maximised across all routes throughout the day.
