THE annual Innovation Generation conference will be held in Adelaide on 9-10 July, Grain Growers Limited (“GrainGrowers”) announced last week.
The event, set to attract more than 150 delegates aged 18-40 years, provides an opportunity for young people working across all agricultural commodities to connect, share experiences, gain knowledge and enhance their careers and businesses.
GrainGrowers chairman John Eastburn said this year’s Innovation Generation theme would be “Food security: obstacles and opportunities”.
“We are very excited that this year will see Innovation Generation head to Adelaide for the first time,” Mr Eastburn said.
“It is important that young people are encouraged to pursue the many diverse careers that agriculture has to offer and Innovation Generation helps drive that enthusiasm in the next generation of industry leaders,” he said.
“The event, in its fifth year, provides access to the latest products, research and technology to allow delegates to learn about efficiency and productivity developments.
“The conference includes breakout sessions for delegates to explore particular topics of interest and liaise with industry experts and leaders in a friendly learning environment.”
Innovation Generation will include a “Food security: obstacles and opportunities” hypothetical that brings young people together on a panel with industry leaders to explore a range of topical issues including sustainability, consumer perceptions and new technologies.
