Puma wins US award for innovation

14/05/2008 12:10:00 PM
The Puma tractor range from Case IH has won a US machinery innovation prize, according to US magazine Farm Industry News which announced the winners of its 2008 FinOvation awards.

The awards are determined by reader votes for the hundreds of new products featured in the magazine.

The Puma tractors won in the mid-horsepower tractor category.

According to Farm Industry News, Case IH Puma tractors “are considered multi-purpose machines that can go from row-crop to utility work with ease.”

Two new Puma models with a shorter wheelbase have recently been introduced.

These new models join the existing Puma line-up – four models ranging from 165 to 213hp – that won the FinOvation award.

The Puma name has a heritage dating back to 1986 when Steige introduced the Puma 1000 row-crop tractor.

Like today’s Case IH Puma tractor, the Steiger Puma tractor was revolutionary for its time, combining high horsepower with manoeuvrability.
