Cyclists involved in a Sydney road rage incident are considering a class action against the driver to recoup the cost of their damaged equipment, one of the riders says.A pack of 50 cyclists on a training ride on the Southern Cross Drive near Sydney airport yesterday morning were apparently targeted by an angry motorist who swerved in front of them and braked suddenly.More than 20 riders, including professional cyclists Kate Nichols and Olympic hopeful Ben Kersten, were injured when the grey Ford Falcon slammed on the brakes.The riders crashed into the back of his vehicle, some suffering minor cuts and abrasions.The driver then accelerated away from the scene.One of the riders has told Fairfax Radio Network the cyclists are now considering a class action against the driver to recoup the cost of their damaged bike equipment - which he estimates to be over $50,000.Identifying himself as Glen from Cronulla, the man said he had been at the back of the pack when the driver swerved in front of them."We're really lucky the physical injuries weren't so much, but the cost has been - and I'm keeping a tally because there will be a class action in relation to this - is up over $50,000," he said.Police have spoken to a 34-year-old western Sydney man over the incident, but no charges have been laid.
